Stepping into the Realm of 3-D Cloisonné - James Carter

Beads are probably the oldest body adornment in civilization. Primitive or modern, they exude a certain charm unlike anything else. This class will break away from the somewhat self-indulgent world of cloisonné enamel painted on a flat surface.
We will play with the application of color to copper beads in a variety of shapes. We will apply and fuse enamel onto these 3-D surfaces by using stencils, foils, glass threads and over-glazes. The student will then learn how to apply cloisonné wires to the bead surface, from simple to complex designs, depending on the student’s skill level. Each student will complete at least two beads by the end of the 5-day session.
This class is open to all who want to start adding color and dimension to their jewelry or 3-D objects.
