Double Gemstone Amulet
Sheila Stillman

Picture
Most of us have fallen in love with beautiful gemstones over the years. This class will give you the opportunity to combine two stones into a striking pendant evoking the magical sensibility of an ancient amulet — "a small object worn around the neck to bring good fortune or protection." A granulated bail will accent the piece, giving it the look of history and old world craftsmanship.  If granulation is too daunting, we'll fabricate a simpler bail to enhance the design.

This project will help you to practice and refine your fabrication skills, bezel setting and granulation. Take advantage of the tips and techniques the class will offer to take all your work to the next level. Sheila will have large stones available to purchase which have been selected specifically for this project, or you can incorporate your own stones in the piece.

This is an intermediate to advanced level class, and experience with granulation would be helpful.
